Third Avenue Village Association's Committees

The Third Avenue Village Association's four committees provide members and non-members the opportunity to make decisions, evaluate current programs, develop new strategies and obtain desired outcomes that benefit Third Avenue Village.

The Economic Restructuring Committee meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the TAVA office. The committee's purpose is to:

  • Monitor the economic condition of Third Avenue Village
  • Strengthen existing businesses and recruiting new ones
  • Identify new economic uses of existing buildings
  • Identify and develop financial incentives and capital for building rehabilitations, improvements and development

The Design Committee meets the second Friday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the MMS Desing Associates office-344 F Street #100.

The committee's purpose is to:

  • Educate others regarding design that enhances the image of Downtown
  • Provide design advice and encourage quality improvements to both public and private spaces
  • Plan the district's developments, guiding future growth and shaping regulations
  • Motivate others to make sound design decisions by creating incentives and targeting key areas for project

The Organizational Committee meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the TAVA office. The committee's purpose is to:

  • Raise funds for projects and administration through donations, assessments, and sponsorships
  • Manage staff and volunteers, recruit people, supervise and reward staff and volunteers
  • Promote the vision and mission through the community and association members
  • Manage finances by developing good accounting procedures

The Promotional Committee meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the TAVA office. The committees purpose is to:

  • Understand the changing market for both potential shoppers and competition
  • Identify Third Avenue Village assets including people, buildings, heritage and institutions to use as marketing tools
  • Create NEW image campaigns, retail promotions and special events to bring people to Downtown
  • Define Downtown's niche and develop a brand for the area.
